RankPilot ("the App") helps Shopify merchants improve the SEO of their product catalog. This policy explains what the App accesses, why, and how it is handled.
When you install the App, with your authorization it accesses your store's product
data through Shopify's Admin API: product titles, descriptions, types, tags, SEO meta
fields, and product images (including alt text). It uses read_products to scan and
score this data and write_products to save optimized SEO meta titles, meta
descriptions, and image alt text back to your products — only for the specific fields you
review and approve.
RankPilot does not request or access customer personal data, orders, payment information, or storefront analytics. It only works with product catalog and SEO fields.
To generate optimized SEO copy, relevant product fields (title, type, tags, a trimmed description, image count) are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, which returns the suggested meta title, meta description, and alt text. This data is used solely to produce your optimization and is not used to train models. See Anthropic's privacy commitments at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
We store only operational data needed to run the App: your shop domain, your settings (brand name, tone, focus keywords, auto-pilot preference), your latest SEO score snapshot, a usage counter, and an auto-pilot activity log. We do not store customer personal data.
If you uninstall the App or Shopify sends a shop/redact request, all data we hold
for your shop is permanently deleted. We honor Shopify's mandatory GDPR webhooks
(customers/data_request, customers/redact, shop/redact);
because we store no customer personal data, the customer requests have no data to return.
Access tokens are stored securely and all communication with Shopify and our AI provider uses encrypted HTTPS connections.
